- 4 medium apples (preferably Granny Smith)
- 1 sheet store-bought puff pastry
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Peel, core, and slice apples. Toss with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Add raisins and nuts if desired.
Roll out puff pastry and place apple mixture along one edge.
Roll the pastry around the apples and seal the edges.
Brush with egg wash and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and flaky.
Let it cool slightly, slice, and serve with powdered sugar or vanilla ice cream.

You can freeze unbaked strudel for up to 3 months. Bake directly from frozen, adding 5-10 extra minutes to the bake time.
